IDEXX – Man Pharma Heads Lecture on Animal Vector-borne Diseases
In collaboration with IDEXX Laboratories, Man Pharma hosted an informative lecture on the vector-borne diseases affecting Filipino dogs and cats. The Crowne Plaza served as the venue for this symposium on the evening of May 28, 2018. Its attendees were veterinarians from the different regions of Luzon, all ready to discuss vector-borne diseases in the context of the Philippines with their peers.
Driving the conversation is IDEXX Training and Education’s Dr. Rachael Kilroy. Beginning at 6:30 PM, Dr. Kilroy began her lecture by presenting our audience with in-depth data on vector-borne diseases. She most notably talked about heartworm, ehrlichia, anaplasma, babesia, and Lyme disease. Her engaging lecture then steered to the available diagnostics for the said diseases. Dr. Kilroy highlighted the pros and cons of various diagnostic methods like microscopy and lateral flow tests. After this topic discussion, everyone agreed that the SNAP 4Dx test, with its complex mechanism compacted into a simplistic procedure, serves veterinarians with both the accuracy and convenience that they expect from their diagnostic tools. Our guest veterinarians were also able to test their diagnostic skills with case studies and digital poll quizzes. Throughout the talk, our audience were also treated with the hotel’s complimentary dinner and dessert buffet.
